2022 The Rookie

This 100% Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is from our “Guardian” plantings at Quintessence Vineyard. Swirl and sniff, you will be met by notes of raspberry, rich coffee, and blackberry on the nose. Now sip, on the palate the wine focuses on notes of peppercorn, Himalayan pink sea salt, and a hint of caramelized sugar. Aged in 70% new French oak, this gorgeous wine is generous and silky. “This was the first wine I ever made and the one that really drew me into winemaking. This vintage is spectacular, rich, expressive, and velvety smooth. I’d pair it with a dry-aged New York steak,” Jerry, winemaker and owner.
